Astaxanthin vs Vitamin C
Share
Vitamin C is the antioxidant most people grew up hearing about, but astaxanthin has become popular in the wellness space for its comparatively high potency in lab studies.
The two work differently: vitamin C is water-soluble and works mainly in the watery parts of cells, while astaxanthin is fat-soluble and embeds itself within cell membranes, offering a different kind of protection.
Rather than competing, the two are often used together as part of a broader antioxidant strategy - one covering the water-soluble environment, the other the fat-soluble one.
